Mines and Money Conference Held in London

A conference on “Mines and Money” was held in London
in order to introduce the mines of Afghanistan (that is, Zarkashan gold mine of Ghazni, gold mine of Badakhshan, Shaida Hill copper mine of Herat, and Balkhab copper mine of Sarepul),

During his speech Minister of Mines H.E Wahidullah Shahrani talked about the national programs (High program for exploitation of mines and extractive industries, regional and national corridors of resources, projects with priorities; and facilities and reforms implemented in mining sector) , especially  the capacities of four  mines (Zarkashan gold mine of Ghazni, Badakhshan gold mine, Shida copper mine of Herat, and Balkhab copper mine of Sarepul province), and the planned timetable for tender of mentioned mines.

During the conference investors showed their satisfaction regarding the results of the assessment of the Hajigak iron mine and transparency in in the tender process. This was deemed a great achievement and a victory for the Assessment Committee.

Now investors have the opportunity to express their interest in the mentioned four mines, and according to the schedule. Henceforth the Inter-ministerial Committee for Ministry of Mines is going to confirm the mining companies meeting the criteria, and will begin the phase of sending the proposals.
