Afghanistan is located in central Asia and sits at an important geostrategic location between the Middle East, central Asia and the Indian subcontinent. One of Its neighbor countries is China, an important trade partner and also a major strategic partner in the mining sector, where it already has made large investments. Major cities, which play an important role in doing businesses in Afghanistan, are Kabul, Kandahar, Jalalabad, Mazar-e-Sharif and Herat.

Afghanistan’s history and culture goes back over 5,000 years. Its struggle to become an independent country went on for years. Since 2004 Afghanistan has achieved in cooperation with United Nations to adopt a new constitution and to establish the country as an independent Islamic Republic with its elected President Hamid Karzai.
