Official Introduction of H.E Whahidullah SHahrani to the senior staff of the Ministry of Mines
H.E. Wahidullah Shahrani was officially introduced to the senior personnel of the Ministry of Mines. The introduction ceremony took place in the conference Hall of the Ministry of Mines. High rank officials including Abdurrahman Ashraf, advisor to the President on Mining and Energy Affairs, some members of parliament, and the Deputy Minister for Trade and Industries attended.
At the start of the ceremony, Dr. Ashraf said: “I welcome Mr. Shahrani to join this family and I congratulate him “Mr. SHahrani is a young and hard working person. During his short work period at the MoTI, he made some positive changes to the ministry, and I hope I see similar changes to the Ministry of Mines too.”
Eng. Mohammad Akram Ghiasi, Deputy Minister, for mining affairs of MoM, represented the staff of the Ministry of Mines. He congratulated Mr. Shahrani, and after giving a short briefing on the past activities of MoM, promised to cooperate with him, serving the country.
Deputy Minister for Ministry of Trade and Industries (MoTI), Mr. Sharifi, also gave a short speech and said: “Mr. Shahrani has great knowledge and good management skills, and much energy available to serve the people and country.”
Mr. Shahrani made lots of positive achievements during his short period of work in MoTI, he said.
Mr Sharifi also said: “Mr. Shahrani has developed the future strategy of MoTI and I am sure that he can do lots of positive work in MoM too.”
Ghlam Farooq, a Member of Parliament, told the participants that MoM is a key ministry and it can save the people of Afghanistan from poverty and I am sure that persons like Shahrani can achieve this goal.
At the end of the ceremony, Mr. Shahrani made a short speech and, said: ”Using the experience I obtained while working for MoTI, I will work to serve our country through MoM too”.
Expressing his priorities for the work ahead, the Minister of Mines said: “While establishing general laws and regulations, it will be necessary to have separate strategies for each and every mine. The transparency we will observe when contracting and in all contracts will be achieved by making such agreements accessible to all people through our website and the media.”
It is essential that the mines not only manage their operations in terms of good engineering, but also manage them in terms of good economics, he said.
Mr. Shahrani added:” Afghanistan has lots of resources, and if we use them properly, our country will gain thousands of billions of dollars. |
